During cyclone Debbie the Wedding Chapel on Daydream Island copped the full brunt of the storm. The external deck was washed away, the roof leaks caused major water damage to the timber lined ceilings and floors and the chapel pews sustained swelling of the bases due to being submerged in water. Blaze carried out a full restoration of the structure including new external deck, installation of structural footing to maintain structural integrity, replacement of the water damaged timber ceiling and floor linings, rectification of the water damaged church pews, a complete repaint and a new electrical overhaul including cabling, switching and lighting to bring the old chapel back to life.
